Late 1700s
Overview
The 1700s end with the Industrial, American, and French Revolutions. Like the 1850 to 99 line this line is dominated by events in a relatively small span of time (all of those revolutions). This makes the line uneven in spacing and coverage. There is simply more information of the American Revolution than anything else that was happenning at the same time.

and I will check the pages in Opera 6.x and 7.x as time allows. I'm fed up with IE.
Site Navigation
This should be fairly easy, everything is linked on the left column.
These navigation squares appear at the bottoms the Timeline pages, these will allow you to skip to the next page without going back to the menu at the top of the page. It also has links to the major areas of the Timelines, such as site search, Main Links, etc. Passing the cursor will show an alt or tool tip pop-up.
Inline Links
These are links in the actual text of the timelines. These are our Inline Links.
Timelines uses several types of these links, each with it's own notation. Links going
back to Resgestae or an outside website
on the subject linked
will be shown with a ?. Links to our onsite expansions will be marked with
+. Online text and source reference materials hosted by Din Timelines,
a priori or an outside site will be marked with a *. Advertising or retail
links will be marked with a "¢." Basic links to dates
in the timelines will be marked with ][ or ||. This is a new feature and
will be devoloped more over the course of it's sitewide implementation.
A topic word may have more than one link connected with it.
The item linked will go to the symbol of what ever is closest to it.
cats ?+ denotes a link
through "cats" or "?" to a Registry internet directory about cats, clicking on "+"
will take you to an artcle about cats.
Notations & Abbreviations
All inline dates will this color unless they link directly to that date, they will then be this color. Other Abbreviations will be This color When an event or spans a period of time there will be a notation [u.0000] or [until 0000] and will represent how long an era or prolonged event, such as a war, lasts. Other notations include
- [r.0000] for ruled;
- [d.0000] for died;
- [b.0000] for born;
- [f.0000] for flourished;
- [s.0000] see the date or subject;
- [a.00] an individual's age;
- [l. xxx] Later;
- [aka xxx] Also Known As;
- [c0000] for circa (approxmate) date.
Dates: Months will be shown as 3 letter abbreviations in
lowercase as are the seasons. A general date followed by a two letter abbreviation
will be LATE is "la", MIDDLE is "mi", EARLY is "ea", an unknown is "00" or no notation.
jun ea would be early June. spr la would
indicate late spring, aug 00 or aug means sometime in August.
The Timelines uses Common Era and Before Common Era instead of AD and BC. There are two reasons. The first is they are more politically correct and more importantly I can never remember what A.D. stands for. It is a mental block on my part...If a date has no notation after it it will be of the same era as the timeline it is found.
Before some entries there is a |LOCATION|. The location may either be an ancient area name or a modern one, which ever seems easiest to comprehend.
Type some entries will have a |TYPE| such as |POLITICS| or |WAR| These types also loosely correspond to the subject headers on the Link Site to aid navigation beyond the Timelines site.
PRIVACY
This site collects no specific personal information from its visitors. Any Emails sent to me
will be replied to if possible, and those addresses are not used for anything else as they are rarely kept
Though some of the information is usable to persons under the age of
13 it is in no way targetted to that age group.
